[PC] Refresher keeps looping and only the old version is up for download

Hello there,

 

I am trying to login, but since the maintenance means a new version, the game as to update. The refresher keeps unpacking until 100%, then fires up the game, then the game closes after a second before it even loads and the refresher repeats its work. Over and over and over again.

 

I read in several sources that uninstalling completely might help. Nope, it does not.

 

I read that simply installing the game with a new executable might help, but the new version cannot be downloaded from the website yet at the time of writing this.

 

Can anyone help me fix the refresher?

 

I run Windows 10, 64-bit.

There are a few things you can try to get past this issue. Please see the steps below. If these methods do not work then please reach out to the support team by clicking the link in my signature. 
 
Refresher Method
Without uninstalling the game, download the latest installer from the TCG Online download page
Run the installer
Find the folder in which you installed the game, named PokemonTradingCardGameOnline, and run the Refresher executable manually.
Run the game client and log in
 
 
Manual Client Update Method
Without uninstalling the game, download the latest installer from the TCG Online download page
Run the installer
Open the add/remove programs window in control panel
Right click The Pokémon Trading Card Game Online
Choose the 'Change' option
This will run the Refresher executable, after which you should be able to Repair or Uninstall the game
If repairing doesn't correct the issue, choose 'Uninstall' from the menu
After the game has successfully uninstalled, reinstall the game using the newest installer file (downloaded above)
Run the game client and log in
 
I have updated the title of your topic to be more descriptive.

Hello, I will try that, but you refer to the latest download. That is exactly the problem with reinstalling: the old download is still on the site, not the new one.

  3. 288 MB

 

Sadly it indeed does not work

 

EDIT: I see the new patcher is out, so I will try it with that one
