[Windows] Patching - Update 2.49 Refresher only allows Repair

Is the new patch live yet? 

I tried to open the game and got the refresher screen saying there was a new version available (2.49), but it does not seems to be downloading anything, the progress bar is missing from the screen and the only buttons available are "close" and "repair" while "play" is disabled. 

Do I have to reinstall (like with almost every update, which gets old, by the way) or is it because the new version is not live at the moment?

This is a known issue, as per http://forums.pokemontcg.com/topic/55141-update-249-on-dec-12-ipad-version-delay-and-patching-issues/?p=585205

 

You will want to visit http://support.pokemon.com/ics/support/KBAnswer.asp?questionID=1438and follow the steps to un-install and reinstall.  Once you do that, you should be able to get in and play.

Great...

 

I can't uninstall it. It stops at the beginning. Saying it is preparing for deleting the data. But there is no progress and I have been at it for more than 10 minutes. Now I can't even close it per Windows Task manager.

Hi Everyone!

SMSH(smash) here,

So I ran into a problem and realized a lot of other people are having the same problem. There is a post about Mac but wanted to let the Windows guys and gals know as well. The refresher gets stuck! The moment it gets to the refresher screen it gives you 2 clickable options, Cancel [Clicking this does nothing], Repair [Does nothing], Play [Greyed out] and after 20 mins of waiting I tried again, but same thing so I just did a complete uninstall and reinstalled the game again and it worked fine! 

It would be helpful if the developers can look into it or just let everyone know that complete uninstall and reinstall does fix everything.

Don't want people to worry a lot and let them know that there is an easy fix:

 

1. Uninstall the game from control panel
2. Delete files from your local appdata folder 
3. Reinstall and the .exe can be downloaded from:
https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/play-online/download/

Hello, I had the same problem and tried uninstalling the game but i got the following message:

Could not access network location property. USER_PROFILE. and the options of retry and cancel. I tried retry but the same message came up. Cancel obviously just cancels the uninstall.

I am not sure what this means, can anybody help?

Pessoal, tive o mesmo problema! Mas fui na pasta a onde está instalado o jogo e cliquei no ícone "Refresher"

E consegui atualizar por ele. 

Pegou normalmente após a atualização.

One way you can do it is Open up the Refresher.exe directly from where you have PTCGO installed and it'll start updating properly.

After your bug fix on 12/12/17 all that comes up is the notice that the bugs are fixed. Nothing about how to re enter the game. I pressed the repair button and left my computer on for over an hour. Nothing.\happened. I seem to have similar problems with server connections after every update.
