Hey, everyone, gotta ask this, but does anybody ever feel like Pokemon XY get a bad deal when compared to say, ORAS, or SM? Because considering a game that served as a major turning point for the video games, from being completely 3D, to introducing things like Mega Evolution, Fairy types and Amie, yet kind of like the original RBY games, didn't seem to get as much respect as it should have. While Red and Blue were the prototype, and plenty of stuff to work off of, bugs to fix, and a few other things that GSC ended up improving on, yet with XY, it didn't seem to have too much going for it. Compared to Sun and Moon, and in some ways, Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphirre, it looked like not much went into it, especially considering how more straightforward it was when compared to the other games. Sure the games introduced a whole bunch of new concepts, and did things that would be a first, along with having a big mix of pokemon from different regions, along with the small list of Kalos originals, and most of the pokemon from Kanto, with Unova not too far behind, and a little bit of Johto, Sinnoh, and minimal Hoenn, yet the biggest problem it had going for it is that it seemed like not much work went into it. Considering that XY has more unanswered questions, one would expect that the Pokémon Company would go back to the third game with Pokémon Z, or try for another set of sequels like they did with B2W2, but once again, ORAS pretty much came in, and like GSC, pretty much ended up making up what XY missed, and became a lost memory. And with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon coming out soon, and from the sounds of things, takes place in an alternate dimension, probably giving more background to the Ultra Beasts, one can't help but wonder why XY didn't get the same respect. There was even a big wall, that one would think it would be like another Johto, where they can expand the Kalos region, but nope, right now, XY is stuck to the player's imagination, at least depending on what the Switch game has to say. And along with the games that are rumored to be in the works, can't help but feel that those were just decoys, while the Pokémon Company keep the new generations, and the remakes, hidden from the public.
